Dear
Friends
I am
putting some of ideas below for your kind information for your thinking.
Mentor-Protege
relationship is like a relationship
between a Guru and Sishya.
There
are entries and boundaries. It is father or mother Plus friend type of mould.
Purpose
of mentorship differs according to the organization goal or the group goal
Here we
are planning mentorship for the juniors of a course which is unique and I have
not seen or heard about that earlier.
It is
necessary to shell out the purpose of
the mentorship program because if do not know where we want to go we
cannot purchase a ticket to go there. So let me put out my ideas for this
program.
The
following may be the purpose of this
- Mentor will guide the mentee to gain
clearance about his/her objective of career - Mentor will also suggest the type of
organizations to apply - She/he will guide her/him for in
application of positions - Mentee will be given guidance to
sharpen the knowledge and skills in her/his in area of interest - CV preparation and interview
preparation would also be guided by
mentor (if needed and requested) - In
case of mid career accidents such as job loss or loss in business ,
mentor would help the mentee to withstand the loss and stand erect and
continue - In case of self employed mentee, mentor would help
and advise at all stages of business starting from business model
development to ramping up - Mentors would also serve as referees
for job reference from the
prospective employer - If opportunity arises mentor will
recommend positions to the Mentee. - In case of personal loss to the mentee,
the mentor would hold her/him in good stead.
In my
view the following persons from my batch are good mentors, So it is for Amit
Goel and his batch mates to contact them to get their consent.
Further
some from the previous batches of IRMA also want to participate. Hence the list
of mentors can be published in this egroup as well as in the irman.org
I
suggest one or two persons from each batch prepare the list of possible mentors
and send it to some one who can take the responsibility of compiling the list.
